Among the Hidden is a young adult novel written by Margaret Peterson Haddix. The novel takes place in a time where families are limited to two children and population is controlled by the Population Police. The main character, Luke, is a third child, or "shadow" child who lives his life in isolation until he meets another third child who convinces him differently.
This novel study includes 40 pages of exciting activities to complete before, during and after reading. Included are pre-reading activities, comprehension questions and questions involving higher-order-thinking. End-of-chapter questions are included for each two to three chapters, as well as engaging graphic organizers that encourage students to sequence events, infer and re-tell.
